CO₂ Emissions
Climate Neutrality
Since 1978, m-tec has been a pioneer in innovative solutions for the production, logistics, and processing of pre-mixed building materials and fine-grained bulk goods. We develop and manufacture many core components, including control systems, in-house to ensure the highest quality and efficiency. Our solutions have made construction better, faster, and more economical in nearly 100 countries worldwide.
In early 2022, the management team, led by Dr. Michael Meding, CEO of the m-tec Group, made the decision to make the Neuenburg site climate neutral. Our goal is to measure, reduce, and achieve climate neutrality in CO2 emissions. We take responsibility for the environment and the future of our children and grandchildren.
Dr. Michael Meding, CEO of m-tec mathis technik gmbh, emphasizes: "Sustainability is an important part of our corporate strategy. With our defined goals and concrete measures, we aim to contribute to achieving the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. This strengthens our position as a preferred supplier for customers worldwide and makes us an attractive employer for motivated employees committed to environmental protection."
The switch to green electricity is already underway and will take effect in early 2023. Additional measures, such as the use of photovoltaic systems and the replacement of motors, lighting, and thermal processes with energy-saving solutions, are currently being evaluated. Every aspect of energy consumption within the company is being analyzed to identify potential savings. A dedicated action team is discussing possible measures, which will be implemented step by step. Since October 2022, we have been offsetting our CO2 emissions with certificates while simultaneously working to reduce our emissions.
Climate neutrality is an ongoing process that is regularly reviewed. We are supported by our partner, FOKUS-ZUKUNFT GmbH & Co. KG, which assists us with its expertise and experience in CO2 emissions, helping us actively contribute to climate protection. The calculation and purchase of certificates were also carried out in collaboration with FOKUS ZUKUNFT.
Achieving climate neutrality is a continuous process that doesn't end with one assessment and set of measures. The impact of these measures is regularly reviewed through new assessments. With the help of our partner FOKUS-ZUKUNFT GmbH & Co. KG, we are equipped with up-to-date knowledge and expertise in CO2 emissions, enabling us to actively engage in climate protection.
