The m-tec Volumetric Dosing System (VDS) for Lightweight Aggregates
The m-tec Volumetric Dosing System (VDS) provides a technically advanced solution for the precise weighing and dosing of lightweight aggregates such as perlite, vermiculite, and expanded polystyrene (EPS). These materials often present challenges due to their inconsistent bulk density, which is difficult to compensate for with conventional methods.
Innovative Technology for Bulk Density Determination:
The VDS employs a specialized process for automatic bulk density determination, based on gravimetric dosing. This method enables accurate and reproducible dosing results by precisely measuring both the volume and weight.
Automatic Adaptability:
The system automatically adjusts to the varying bulk densities of incoming raw materials, ensuring consistently high-quality end products. With a level of precision comparable to laboratory conditions using the Böhme measurement method, the system reliably ensures production results meet quality specifications.
Advantages of the VDS:
- High Precision and Reproducibility: Comparable to relevant laboratory methods and significantly more accurate than standard volumetric dosing systems.
- Quality Assurance: The integrated precise bulk density determination prevents significant quality deviations, ensuring the consistent effectiveness of raw materials.
The m-tec VDS is a critical factor in maintaining consistent quality and customer satisfaction. It is ideal for manufacturers who demand the highest levels of accuracy and reliability in their production processes.

FIBERDOS® by m-tec®: Fully Automatic Fiber Dosing
Functionality and Design:
The FIBERDOS® system by m-tec® consists of an oval or rectangular silo container with a specially designed screw discharge base and a dosing unit made up of rotating brush rollers. This setup enables precise and controlled dosing of fiber materials ranging from 100 µm to 8 mm in length, directly into the downstream production process.
Innovative Dosing Method:
- Start Process: The plant control system initiates the dosing process based on recipe specifications.
- Material Conveyance: The rollers in the screw base are frequency-controlled to move the fibers toward the center of the container.
- Precise Dosing: By opening two pneumatic sliders, the fiber material is delivered onto two rotating brush rollers, ensuring accurate dosing into the production process.
Installation and Integration:
- Flexibility: FIBERDOS® can be installed in various locations, ideally directly above the mixer or large-component scale to optimize costs and efficiency.
- Integration: It can also be incorporated as an additional module into the m-tec® POWERDOS® small-component dosing system.
Technical Specifications:
- Dosing Quantities: Minimum dosing quantity approximately 100 g; maximum quantity depends on the fiber volume in the silo container.
- Dosing Accuracy: Depending on fiber type and installation conditions, accuracy is up to +/- 20 g.
- Sizes: Available in two standard sizes – 500 l and 1500 l silo volumes, with dosing capacities of up to 150 g/s and 300 g/s, respectively.
FIBERDOS® Test Facility:
- Performance Testing: Enables dosing tests with the mobile m-tec® test facility to evaluate performance with specific fibers.
Advantages of FIBERDOS®:
- Controlled and uniform fiber discharge with high dosing accuracy.
- Significant savings in energy and process costs due to efficient and precise material handling.
